Abstract
Breast metastasis from carcinoma of the ovary, fallopian tube, and peritoneum (OTP) is rare, occurring in advanced stages of the disease, with chemoresistance and a poor prognosis. Its approach, due to the scarcity of described cases, remains undefined. We present the case of a 70-year-old female with high-grade serous carcinoma of the fallopian tubes, with progressive disease, despite multidrug chemotherapy. Three and a half years after the initial diagnosis, a breast metastasis was diagnosed. The diagnosis was made in the context of hospitalization due to intestinal occlusion, secondary to progression of the disease, and there was a progressive worsening of the patient’s clinical condition. This case describes the unusual occurrence of breast metastasis of OTP carcinoma. Currently, no standardized treatment protocol exists for this condition. Several therapeutic modalities are described to improve quality of life and local control of metastatic lesions; however, they are associated with a limited response.
